Hi Friends,

At our recent Social Justice Gathering and in other meetings, many people committed to or expressed an interest in coming along to the Affordable Housing Assembly with Planning Minister Anthony Roberts next Thursday night. So I wanted to encourage you to still do that and to forward along the final details from Sydney Alliance and also connect with you to let you know how the night will run.

Firstly, if you haven't registered with the Sydney Alliance yet please do so here, or if you prefer just let me know by email or give me a call on 9307 8465 or 0417 570 980 and I will take care of it for you.

On the night: What we need to do is gather together as Sydney Catholics as it is really important for the organisations there to be visible as an organised group. I don't want to make that too burdensome on any of you, so I was hoping you might just come to find me when you arrive so we can all sit together and I will have little Archdiocese of Sydney badges for you all (see image below). Many of you know me so I hope this shouldn't be too hard, but I will also be wearing one of the badges along with my name badge and will have a 'Sydney Catholic Archdiocese' sign to help you spot me. I will be there from 6pm. If you can't find me, or have any trouble on the night please give me a call on 0417 570 980.

The night is one of sharing stories, of demonstrating organisational diversity to engage the Minister with our ask for higher affordability and income targets in the new district housing plans being drawn up for all of Sydney. This will mean more affordable housing across Sydney for those on low-moderate incomes, as well as key workers. It is most important that he sees how all kinds of different Sydney-siders have come together and care about this issue. It will be a powerful night and I hope, if this is the first Sydney Alliance assembly you've been to, that you will feel encouraged and inspired.
