· For this Meeting, we have been fortunate to arrange a very special Guest Speaker, Ms Sally-Anne Hurley who will speak to members and guests about the current “Caritas Community Climate Petition”.

Sally-Anne Hurley works in the role of Digital Communications Specialist at Caritas Australia, as part of the Advocacy and Communications team.

The Climate Petition's aim is to ask our Federal Government to review Australia's current climate change policies in order to make positive change for climate justice here in Australia and in poor communities around the world. It will provide further back-up to Pope Francis' encyclical Laudato Siand give Christians a voice on this issue. The petition is to be lodged to the Federal Parliament at the end of June.

This is Australia’s largest multi-electorate petition on climate justice. Caritas calls on the Australian Government to:

· Reduce our emissions,

· Transition to renewables,

· Support vulnerable communities.

If you want to learn more about this most important issue, you are warmly welcomed to join this very special occasion.
