Dear Friends,
I hope this email finds you well. Ecology and the environment are in our thoughts at present and in that light I invite you to attend the following workshop. It will be an excellent opportunity to look at the relationship between Science & Religion, especially in light of the recent encyclical by Pope Francis.
All are welcome to attend and please RSVP to helen.bennett@dow.org.au by the 10th August.
SCIENCE & RELIGION: PARTNERS IN KNOWING GOD, THE UNIVERSE & LIFE
Wednesday 12 August 7:30-9:30pm at St John the Evangelist Parish Hall 36 Cordeaux St Campbelltown
Rev. Dr. Anthony Gooley is back, this time presenting on Science & Religion. In popular imagination and media science and religion (Christianity) are often pitted against each other as opposing forces. When we look at the relationship between them, especially Christian theology, we are surprised to learn just how close they are to one another and yet each has its own limits and proper way of doing things. We will look, in particular, at the origins and development of the universe. Registration is essential to Helen Bennett, 4222 2403 or helen.bennett@dow.org.au Cost is $10. Enquiries to Darren McDowell, 4222 2463 or cfl@dow.org.au
Regards
Darren
