SPECIAL PRESENTATION

Our next Meeting of the Macarthur Social Justice Network is to be held on Saturday 6th May 2017 at 10.00am. The Venue for this Meeting will be the Parish Hall, St John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 35 Cordeaux Street, Campbelltown 2560.

· For this Meeting, we have been very fortunate to arrange a very special Guest Speaker, Mr Barry Dalton who will speak to members and guests about “Prison Ministry”.

The role of Barry and his wife Fay involves visiting inmates and corresponding with prisoners. Especially important is his role in assisting ex-offenders after their release and to walk with them in their difficult journey back into society. Barry and his wife Fay also coordinate volunteers in providing emotional support including, where possible, tea and biscuits to those in holding cells at the Downing Centre in Sydney. The presence of a “friend” for those in holding cells helps them through the difficult trial process. This important issue is very relevant to Macarthur and the Campbelltown Courts.

Please invite your friends and anyone interested in this very important issue.
