SYDNEY ALLIANCE CITY ASSEMBLY
MARCH 26TH 7:00pm-8:30pm
You are invited to join 1200 people from all walks of life representing 49 partner organisations to launch a new movement in Sydney’s civil society.
Together we will launch the Sydney Alliance agenda for the common good with specific asks for the NSW Government on the issues of public
transport, affordable housing and supported job pathways (WorkingStart).
The Alliance campaign will seek practical, realistic changes in Sydney to make our city a more fair, just and sustainable city. In transport these include, removing the extra fee on the airport train line, installing lifts on Sydney’s train stations and taking concrete steps to alleviate traffic on Parramatta Rd. In housing: increasing supply for affordable housing, removing stamp duty for first home buyers and introducing a shared equity scheme to NSW. In job pathways – funding a new innovation that sees disadvantaged young people supported to get local jobs with a future.
With a year to go before the next NSW election, we want to build a bridge between Sydney’s civil society and those who serve us in elected office.
Do you want your politicians to hear your voice?
Anita Tang from the NSW Cancer Council and Rev. Garry Derkenne from Unitingcare/Uniting Church will chair the assembly.
The Assembly will be a night of powerful word, story, song and action!
